January 2015

The 2015 picture debacle continues
so next up:
some really terrible quality pictures
from my Instagram account.
I can't figure out how to save them into my iphoto
without ruining the resolution,
so I'm going to just stick these crappy ones here
as a place holder until I do.

First,
a quick account of Hazel's fish.

Instagram:
I gave upon Hazel's fish tank a couple of months ago.
I didn't want to have to deal with her fish during our big move to Denver,
plus I figured the tiny, 2-year old guppie,
whom already outlived 3 of his tank mates,
was nearing the end anyway.
I stopped cleaning the tank,
feeding him regularly,
or even picking up the filter when it fell over,
to encourage the process along.
However, he insists on staying alive.
I would feel like a total jerk flushing him now
after he so valiantly beat the odds.
So now the question is,
how do I get this guy to Denver?

Next, Taylor and I took a quick jaunt over to Denver,
to try to find a house.
The company was paying for our expenses,
so why not stay in the luxury hotel at the Union Station?

The upside: Two indulgent, kid-free evenings at the Crawford?
Yes please!
The downside:  I was newly pregnant and SOOOO sick

Instagram:
oh don't mind me
just lounging around on a giant bed
in a complimentary bathrobe.

After a whirl-wind weekend of looking all around the Denver area,
we found a rental that we felt pretty good about.
We headed back to Utah,
we said goodbye to our people,
(These pictures break my heart
because Gina had just lost her mother
to an awful battle with cancer.
It was a lunch full of tears
and I can see the sadness in her eyes.
We were able to pull out a couple of smiles for the camera, though).

Instagram:
While I am so excited
for the adventure that Denver holds for us,
my heart breaks to leave behind
my family and amazing friends,
like this little beauty,
my BFF.

Leprino sent some movers to make life a little easier for us,

Instagram:
I hope there is enough room in the truck....
oh wait...

and then we were off!
Denver bound!

Instagram:
It feels like a road-trip from 15 years ago,
but if an old CD case full of songs that I know all of the words to
and a bunch of sugar cant get me through the barren wastelands of Wyoming,
then nothing can.

We made it to the house,
the movers came with all of our stuff,
and somehow Hazel's fish survived the process.

Instagram:
Update:  We made it
and so did the fish!

From the start
Denver welcomed us with big, blue skies,
sunny days,
70 degree weather in January,
and so much fun with our family.

which is exactly what I needed,
being so sick and pregnant,
and dealing with things like this
on a daily basis.

Instagram:
How do I get mad at a girl
for just wanting a little lipstick
to go with her heels and dress-ups?
