This past week has been pretty busy. It was the Utah Dental Convention last Thursday and Friday. As some of you may remember, last year while traveling down to the convention I was hit by a Semi-Truck. Thankfully that did not happen again this year, however it crossed my mind multiple times as I was driving down.
I always enjoy going to convention, to see my friends more than anything. So, while everyone else is diligently listening to lectures and perusing the vendors, I am talking with my friends and going out for lunch, ha! (Ok, ok, I went to a bunch of lectures and found a lot of cool new products too)
A special thanks to Monica (left) who only came to see me and Melissa. Melissa (right) is pregnant with a baby boy and is due a month after I am, so a special thanks to her for enduring swollen hands and feet, sweaty palms and armpits, lots of treats, and frequent trips to the bathroom right along with me.
On Saturday my great friend Mindy threw me a fantastic baby shower with some close friends from our ward. She was so creative and put tons of time and effort into this shower and I just have to tell her again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

She even made this cake herself, she's got some serious skills.
Whitney and Tiffany
Mindy and me (yeah, I know my giant body is taking up the whole picture...)
Ali and Heather

Kera and Leah
Good times were had by all

On Tuesday I had my last Relief Society Presidency meeting, which really just turned into dinner at Chili's. I just have to tell these girls how much I love and appreciate them. Like I said before, I'm not so sad that I'm being released, but I AM really sad that I won't be able to hang out with these girls all the time. They are the BEST! Thanks for everything Kendra, Lithie and Kera, there's no way I could have done it without you!
And the final major event of the week was that I worked my last day at Dr. Boston's office on Wednesday. There were definitely some tears involved and I'm glad to say that they weren't all mine. I've loved working for Dr. Boston and with Chelsea, Erica and Wendy. It's been really hard for me to say goodbye and pass on all my patients to someone new. But, I'm hoping that Baby Girl will be worth it. Thanks guys, I'll miss you!
And last but not least, my 8 month profile. I can't believe I am actually posting this. Just when I thought I couldn't get any bigger or more swollen.... yikes! I know it looks like I'm ready to give birth any minute, but according to my pelvic exam today the Dr. said she hadn't felt such a hard cervix in a long time. For those of you who aren't familiar with pregnancy lingo, it means that I'm nowhere near ready to start labor. So here's to a few more weeks of peeing every 2 minutes, ankles the size of tree stumps, numb hands, 3 chins, heart burn, and achy hips.

Am I seriously the first comment! Yes! Crystal...you look great. What a pregnancy picture! You are the reason I feel super intimidated to post one...I won't look that hot! Can't believe that before too long you're going to be posting baby pictures and such. I'm sure baby girl Oberg will be adorable, just like you :)
Oh Crystal... I love you to death! I feel so special to be in two pictures of your week of change....too bad my face is twice the size of yours and you have 6 weeks of pregnancy on me... :O) I just wanted you to know that I am so thankful that I had the chance to serve with you! Thanks for always knowing what we need to do...lol... no one could keep all four of us on topic the ENTIRE time..
Crystal, ya got me in tears again. I'm not ready for you to be gone yet!! I don't do change well...it's too hard. Especially cause my inner(really it's quite not so inner) perfectionist comes out with her claws ready to kill. You will be missed! Can we have like a weekly lunch date? I don't know what I'll do without being able to talk to you. I even caught myself talking to myself in the shower(as usual quizzing myself) telling myself all the things I'll have to tell you on Monday. Don't be alarmed when you get random emails from me.
P.S. As crappy as it is to say goodbye...Baby Oberg will definitely be worth it! Good luck Mommy Oberg!!
I really missed being at the convention this year!
What a fun shower they threw you! That cake looks amazing. And so do you!
Crystal!
I am getting SO excited about baby girl coming and you look fantastic, even though you have tree stumps for ankles and achy hips! you crack me up, I'm sorry, and those are a few of the things I'm NOT looking forward too (someday). It was so good to talk to you the other night, and WE are so excited to be up there with YOU guys!
Hopefully I'll get to see you for a bit this weekend so I can give you your baby prizes!
Seriously, could you make every other woman out there who has been 8 months pregnant before feel any crappier about themselves? you look amazing, and dressed so cute! i am mad at you for never sending my your address by the way. i'm dying to do some baby girl shopping and REALLY want to get a gift in the mail to you, so hop to it girl! anyway, i must say i'm not jealous of your next few weeks ahead but it IS worth it! Can you believe you will be posting pics of baby Oberg in the next month?!? HOORAY!
I told Taylor to prepare himself for the fact that Megan will almost certainly refer to this baby as Violet, no matter what you put on the birth certificate. Don't forget that she still calls Milan "Bilong", after a year and a half of being friends.
Good luck with the final weeks. Sounds like it's about time to break out the miniature trampoline, followed up by some castor oil and a long car ride on a dirt road.
Am I imagining it, or do I see a look in your eyes that says "I'm done!" Who knows maybe you are somebody who wishes she could be pregnant forever. Either way you look great and I hope you go a few days early!
I told emri to tell baby girl to get things going for you! I'm sure they were friends not too long ago :) I really have to say i'm thankful you had convention the exact day i was in labor and delivery...it was so fun to have you guys waiting on the other end of the line (together) to hear all the news! I loved getting your voicemail! Brett listened to it first and he totally held the phone away from his ear when you started talking/screaming and i could hear your message from clear across the room! It was so nice to take my mind off of getting my IV placed! I love you girls!
Your shower looks so cute! That cake is amazing! Enjoy this time off work and get all your final prep done for sweet baby girl...get that bag packed, who knows she may surprise you early! I'll cross my fingers (that are finally not swollen) for you! PS...take some pics of your legs! You will die laughing looking back...i'm starting to see a glimpse of my ankle bones again! hooray! Love ya girl!
Crystal, You look as cute as ever- you are still super stylish and have a beautiful smile. Hang in there, baby girl will be here before you know it and she WILL be worth every minute of swollen ankles, heartburn and frequent potty breaks. Your shower looks like it was great, I love the cake! You are so lucky to have such good friends to take care of you. I didn't know you were done working, are you planning on going back at all after the baby is born? I'm glad you are able to have a couple of weeks to get ready before she comes. I am so excited for you guys and wish we could be there to see her when she first arrives! You have to post TONS of pictures so we don't feel like we miss out on anything. We are looking forward to seeing her this Summer.
UDA was so worth the trip! Maybe next year I'll get more out of it...or not. :)
Your shower was so cute! That is my kind of shower-CANDY! I hope you've gotten all the stuff you need for the little one. I can't believe how soon she'll be here!
I also can't believe you're done with work! What will you do? Ha ha. It's always nice that you can go back-on your own time too.
These last few weeks are the worst! But seriously...enjoy them. Take those last lone trips to the store...there won't be many of them for a long time! But those dang kids are worth it! I can't wait to meet her!!!!
I think you look great! Only 3 more weeks! YAY! Here's to hoping that cervix of your's will soften up fast! :)
What a fun baby shower and I think that cake is so cute :) I was a day over my due date when I had Zoe and I thought i was going to kill someone. And now with this baby I'm so ready to be done and I still have 12 more weeks!!! Oh the joys of pregnancy!
You have been busy, and you are not dilated yet, well have no fear with the torture methods that Mike is sending your way you will be having that baby girl in no time...although I don't think that Mike should be recommending delivery ideas.
I will say that walking, yep walking was the kicker for me. So maybe don't throw that in the mix until you have decided that you really are done. Oh and don't pack your bag until then either, with Gwen I had a bag in each car and I was just waiting to go at any second, but if you have one at your house that is ready I think that is when your body says its go time.
Your shower looked so darling, and that cake, Yikes I don't want anyone to see anything that I have done after that. I think that is fun that you have so many supportive friends that live near you, what a treat that is. And I know how you feel about the last day of the job, but really she will be totally worth it, and you can go back if you want to also.
Last thing I love your photos and your 8 month picture looks so great!! I think that is what I look like at 4 months, minus the fantastic hair and clothes. I am very excited for you as we near the due date, this baby is more anticipated than a celebrity's baby.
Oh, wow. I can't believe it is coming up so fast! You look great. Good luck these last few weeks, we'll be anxiously waiting pictures when she gets here! She'll be totally worth all the aches and pains, you wont even remember it when she gets here!
wow that is a week of change, but how exciting!!! that shower looked like so much fun. love those, getting all that fun stuff!!!! so are you not going back to work? lucky duck if not! well the count down begins, good luck and enjoy every minute of it!!!!muah..
Crystal hang in there you are almost at the finish line and it will be so worth it! You still look great.
P.S. you look so good!
get that baby outta there man!
Crystal, you look so fantastic, and have such a pregnancy GLOW! I love it! We're super excited for you and your new addition, and let us know when we can come see your updated nursery
I guess you are officially avoiding me since you wont return any of my phone calls! :) You are almost there hang in there.
Crystal, you always look cute. I keep checking to see if you have had 'baby girl' but NO not yet. That was a great shower you lucky girl
Rachel Jones
You are still so beautiful!! What are you naming her by the way?? And YES!! She will for sure be worth the job quitting!! You are going to love every second of it!!
K can I just say I am SOOO glad that you did not put the bottle pictures on here?! "Much fun was had by all" pretty much summed it up... and I was glad to scroll down and not find any super embarrassing pictures. Crystal, you are absolutely amazing and I just hope I look half as good as you do when I'm ready to have a baby someday!
Crystal you look so cute. I know you don't feel cute. I remember, I wanted to go into hiding :) Anyway, you look gorgeous. The end is near. Good luck with everything! HOpe all goes well. And don't worry about your cervix. Things can change overnight! I thought I was going to be pregnant forever and then one morning I woke up and my water broke. You just never know!
wow i just love the pics!!! Mindy did such a great job!!!! and wow you are huge!! your belly that is, i can't believe how big your tummy is. awwww you poor thing.
I am so happy for you! U look fabulous fabulous!!!! (imagine the song on Kimora Lee Simmons show- Life in the Fab Lane) Fabulous! Fabulous!!
thank you for being such an example.
love U girl!
Hard cervix! That's the pits! I am still thinking that she'll be here before the 21st! I'm so excited for you (and that it's not me...yet!).
Thanks for the fun at convention! I've never been so tired in my life. (just kidding...but it did make me super exhausted...all that learning!)
SO jealous that you're done with work! I hope that it's helped with the cankles and hands. My cankles are so huge that it feels like I have ski boots on...I can't bend at all! How is it possible to still have more of this madness!!!
Give me a call sometime. Are ya going to the dr. every week? I have an appt. tomorrow...yay!
LOL!!!! dude girl you had me cracking up about the cheesecake comment!!! thanks for putting me on BLAST!!! i prob did take like 10 pretzels but you were supposed to keep that on the low low! haha
siiiigh crystal that comment made me laugh. and i DID only have like 2 pieces of cheesecake!!!! yeah right.
oh and i just scrolled looking at your pic again and just saw the amazing cake that Mindy did!! WOWZERS! it didnt load last time so i couldnt see it. but wow i am so impressed. i'm sure it was as good as it looked. she is so talented.
So excited for you. Girls are so fun! Good luck with everything especially getting any sleep between now and a couple months after. I bet she'll be a cutie!
