What's been going on?

Oh nothing much, just getting ready for baby girl. For those of you who don't know, she is still nameless. Taylor and I have thought long and hard and have come up with many names that we like, we've even narrowed it down, but have yet to decide on one.

Anyway, I've been going crazy with trying to get the nursery set up and Taylor has been great about the whole thing. He's put up the crib, the changing table and is currently working on setting up the wobbly, pre-fab armoire that we bought from Shopko. The armoire looks really cute and is great in theory, but I guess if you want something sturdy you ought not buy it at Shopko. However, I have complete faith that Taylor, in all of his inifite 'fix-it' wisdom, will be able to jimmy rig it into the sturdiest piece of furniture you will ever come across.

I've been busy buying decorations, washing clothes and making the room as cute as possible. More pictures will be coming soon, once everything is finished.

When we first found out that I was pregnant Taylor was under the impression that our baby was going sleep in a little box in a small corner of our room. When I would talk about my plans for a nursery he would always say how "out of control" I was about the whole thing. I think he's starting to see all the things that go hand-in-hand with such a tiny little person and finally might understand what I meant when I said that babies come with a lot of stuff and need their own space.

When I brought this up to him the other night, he said he still thought I was being excessive, but that he's doing all of this because he loves me.... I thought that was real sweet, even if he still has yet to see the light. Thanks hun!

Also, we had a great Valentines day, complete with a couples massage (by two men!), a zombie V-day card, a delicious prime rib dinner courtesy of my mom and the Banff Film Festival. All I have to say is that Taylor is the luckiest sucker ever! I've been going to Warren Miller movies and the Banff Film Festival for years and do you think I ever win anything during the intermission prize giveaway?? No! However, Taylor has won the last two years. Last year he won a Polartec pull-over and this year he won a gift certificate to Alpine Sports. I'm just hoping that all of his good luck neutralizes my bad luck.

The most coveted first comment on Crystals blog? Wow! I must be special! I think the room looks adorable! Beware baby girls are very expensive. They need alot of clothes and ever more important accessories to match. You should check out Childrens Place if you already haven't, they have cute clothes for a reasonable price and lots of sales. :)

That bedding is darling. Good choice! Ha, I'll never forget that conversation when you first told me how Taylor felt about nursery furniture. How great that Daren agreed that changing table a necessity! I was surprised!!

I'm also surprised you didn't mention to me that Taylor won...AGAIN! Lucky bugger. I never win anything. I wanna reach into the computer screen and pull out a cupcake for my eating pleasure...

Wow! What a gorgeous crib and blanket set. So cute! I think girl names would be really hard. Boy names seem easier.

Your last comment was so sweet! I can only hope one day to be as smart as Esther Wilkins.

Crystal, I am SO excited for the baby to come! We were in Bear lake over the weekend, and Erik didn't look at his phone the whole day, when we got home, everyone in the family had called him and I was hoping they were calling to tell us you had the baby! (that wouldn't be very good cause you'd be early but i was still excited!(
The nursery looks SO adorable, I am SO excited that the blanky and binkie clip I have for you are going to match perfectly! I can't wait, good luck on deciding on a name. I really LOVE Olivia, I hope it works out! Good luck!

OH my goodness! Your nursery looks so so cute! I will run to your house as fast as I can...And that is FAST!!! he he he. Just kidding, but seriously so darling! Good job. And I'm glad Taylor decided against the box in the corner idea...I have a feeling after a while Erik would've started agreeing with the idea, and that would've been baaaad. :)

I LOVE your crib bedding! It's so girly and cute. A box in the corner of the room....hahahahaha! That's so funny! Won't he have a rude awakening? :) Don't you hate washing everything? I love the way it looks all crisp and new and then you have to wash it all. I hated that but I loved putting it all away after. What an exciting time for you. My advice-and everyone will tell you this- get as much sleep as you can! Not necessarily for fear of baby not sleeping, but having a baby is just exhausting. And then when you're actually in the hospital you might have so many well-intending visitors who just don't understand that you need to sleep. So anyway, that's my advice! I can't wait to see what she looks like!

Oh ya, and I agree with Melissa about the Childrens Place. It's definitely my favorite place to shop. Especially online. I just got like $250 worth for $80. If you go to slickdeals.net you can usually find an online code to get like 15-40% off. I love it! Well, good luck with that!

I lOVE your nursery, love the dark color wood crib, love the super-great-deal Target bedding and love that Taylor is getting on board with it all. Your cute little girl will have him wrapped around her finger before he knows it! Your cupcakes look delicious and the table setting looks very romantic. Just think, next Valentines day you will have a little peanut to celebrate with you.

Hmmmm. I thought that I had already left a comment on this post but I was trying to remember what I said, so I thought that I would take a look, then I saw that I hadn't left one and I felt like a jerk.

So what I wanted to say was that I don't blame you on the name game, we did the same thing. And I love the bedding, and the crib it all looks so cute. So happy to hear that Taylor is such a help to you to put it all together and make the needed adjustments. How handy is he to have around.

I am so excited for you to have this sweet little baby, I think that you are going to be the most fun mom around. You are doing great.
