Bear Lake

It is that time of the week to update my blog.
My parent's let us borrow the wave runners this weekend, so we went up to Bear Lake with some friends. We did a lot of planning beforehand and Kera even called Bear Lake Hot Springs to see if we could reserve a camp site. Our request was turned down because the sites were given out on a first come, first serve basis. However when we got there at 4:00 on Friday afternoon we were told that there were no more sites and that we'd have to camp in the field next to the camp sites and that we should have made a reservation... The field wasn't too bad considering it was a field of weeds and dust, there were no picnic tables and had no seclusion/privacy/"camping feeling" at all since we were 5 feet away from RV's that surrounded us from every side. But for the 35 bucks we shelled out for our "camp spot" we did get a fire pit so we were feeling pretty damn lucky.

The wild night started off with tin-foil dinners, but Taylor decided to buck the system and instead filled our dinners with steak and brown gravy mix instead of the traditional hamburger and cream of__ soup.

We drank beer. Yes, that's what's in my hand. Ok, ok, it was apple beer, but if it counts Taylor was drinking it out of a Miller "beer cozy". We were just trying to fit in with rednecks that were surrounding us. With Taylor's sweet beard and hair we did a much better job than anticipated.

we also tried to seal the whole redneck thing by picking food out of each other's teeth.

Taylor is always at one with nature, all the bugs were attracted to him (it had nothing to do with the lantern he was holding)

Nothing says a good time like banana boats. Taylor's was the best-stuffed out of the bunch, so of course it got the picture.

We packed up Saturday morning and left our campsite (It was hard to say goodbye to that little dust trap) and headed for the beach.

Where lots of fun ensued with water football, eating, waverunning, eating, swimming, eating. We finished off our eating by stopping for hamburgers and shakes on the way home. Whew, all that eating was making me hungry...

I was thinking Edward looked slightly drunk, but heroin addict definitely describes it better! The author lived by us in Phoenix and I seriously thought about stalking her...

Taylor's sweet beard did help you guys blend in more with the redneck crowd, but Crystal you're going to need to up the redneck factor in your appearance if you guys are going to be able to pull it off....you look way to cute in these pictures for me to think "redneck".

Oh man, that banana boat looks absolutely to drive for right now(It's only 8:45 am!!) That looks like camping I could have POSSIBLY done. Wait, were there bathrooms near by? Don't you hate when they throw the "make a reservation" in your face and you're like, we did? Whatever, at least it was good food, good company, and most importantly, you were on the beach!!!

P.S...to "die" for not drive...

How fun! Sounds like you had a great weekend looks like so much fun. We too had foil dinners on friday but ours weren't as good as yours sounded! We'll have to have the fancy kind when we go camping! Can't wait, we'll have to get working in order to secure a spot, it sounds like its camping season!

Ahh Bear Lake. I can taste the raspberry shakes right now. Was the water low this year?

I am impressed that you were able to pull of camping in a field so well, I mean it actually looks like you were more than successful.

What kind of bug is that on Taylor's leg? It is really massive, like it should belong here, and not in Utah.

I really like your swimsuit. And tell Taylor that he might want to do something about that farmer tan...unless it is part of the redneck blending in.

Sounds like a fun and yummy weekend.

I've never been to Bear Lake-it looked like you had a great time. It's been way too long since we've been camping, and girls camp doesn't count!
I'm curious what's in your banana contraption? It kind of looked good, but it sounds like something I would like-speaking of eating! YUM!

Are you mormon or what?! We all have horrible farmer tan's and drink the 'fake' stuff, but we do have a lot of good clean fun! Ha ha, ha! I really do love it!

PS: please do a tri with me! You would do so good-I promise!

Haha, you guys would fit right in in Springville!! Well, Taylor would have. Maybe if you got bags under your eyes and bleached and ratted your hair...and started smoking, and had a couple of kids that looked too old to be yours but people fear they are. Yeah, maybe UT county isn't for you...or me. :) So LeRand is on this whole, "I have less time in UT than I've lived here and I feel like I haven't seen anything and screw gas prices," so I think that means we have to make a trip to Logan so he can "see" it. I'm not sure exactly what he's expecting to see in Historic Logan but you guys are there so I'm all for it! Have any free weekends coming up?

OH!!! BANANA BOATS!! I was just telling the other hygienist TODAY at work about the yumminess of banana boats! She wasn't too sure and said it sounded like a "utah thing!" She's also 63! She wouldn't know what's good for her if it came slamming into her mouth straight out of my fist! Mmmm, we're gonna try to go camping soon, those are definitely on the menu! How did your steaks and gravy turn out? Sounds creative!

I love your cute suit! As always, you're smokin hot! So, i guess our siblings have been texting...does she tell you more than he tells me?!

You guys are so funny, I love the apple beer! And you always have huge bug pictures!! Yuck! But anyone who upgrades the tin foil dinner is a great one to have along on a trip, even if he attracts huge bugs!

Kim just introduced me to the banana boat a few weeks ago -- I'd never even heard of them. I was too impatient to let mine melt all the way, but Taylor looks like a pro.
