The 4th Family Festivities

I know I'm posting again within the week, but I figured if I waited any longer these pictures would soon become irrelevant, so here we go! We kicked the holiday off with a BBQ, slip-n-slide, and fireworks

One of these boys is not liked the other, can you find him? I'm sad to say that only one of our boys knows how to smile in a picture.

These two were our pyro-technicians, it looks like we were in good hands....

The morning of the 4th we woke up to our annual breakfast. This year we busted out the Belgian waffle makers along with the Creme Brule French Toast.

Moving right along to more food. We went up to the Oberg's for a dinner of Taylor's famous smoked pork roast, drumsticks, ribs and chicken. Of course we had to have the mandatory meat shot on our blog. Notice the sweet jimmy-rigged smoker Taylor made.

And the 4th of July would not be complete without the hillbilly fireworks show. The Liberty fireworks consist of some drunken farmers/cowboys lighting off the fireworks with flares about 100 feet from where you're sitting. It's fantastic because they explode right above your face....

but you do have to watch out for falling debris...

hence the reason our eyes are partially closed.

And of course, the holiday would not have been complete without having my wisdom teeth extracted. Thanks Dad for doing such a great job, Marcie thanks for suctioning so well and thanks to Taylor for practically carrying me up the stairs after I took that Lortab.

that was some Holiday you had. I must say that the smoker was quite genius, and to top it all off you had your wisdom teeth out...what a way to go. I do love fireworks, and I am glad that somebody else still enjoys the good ol' unsafe do it your self technique too. You really can't quite beat fireworks put on by drunken neighbors. I mean what is more American than that?

It looks like you had a good fourth! I wish we could have been there. Taylors food looks sooo good! I hope your wisdom teeth are recovering well.

I can't believe that you topped off the 4th with having your wisdom teeth extracted. You are one crazy lady! It looks like you guys had a great holiday. I love the cul-de-sac that you guys were sitting at, it looks like you had the space to yourselves.

The bridal shower that I will going to Logan for is on the 20th. I will make sure on the time. Talk to you later.

Well it doesn't look like your knuckles were too white in that last shot, so i'm guessing all went well?!

The smoker is fabulous...i just hope it was clean before the cookout?!

...and the hillbilly firework lighters were probably my brothers! O wait...if you were in Bluffdale it would have been!

I do have to say you did awesome having those teeth out--you will never forget that 4th of July weekend. . . can't wait for another fun one this weekend--we're just a barrel of fun or a barrel of monkeys or a barrel of whatever--but whatever it will be great!

We hope you're planning on having lots of fun with us when we get there. We want meat, fires and potato cannons. And you better not think you're staying up in Logan the whole time either.
